To Sparkle Punch...

What I Wore Wednesday: September 2

JessComment

Strike up the Traveling Wilburys 'cause we are at the end of the line! I always dread a month (or two) of outfit chronicling, and then, when it's over, I'm like, WAIT... what am I supposed to wear now?! It's also interesting to see how little I actually wear in a month, even when I was supposedly making better use of my closet. But I have more notes on that, and a full recap, after this week's ensembles. (Two words: PURPLE SEQUINS.)

Thursday 8/27

Fun fact: When I shoot with my tripod in the morning, I do it on this tiny, raised stone slab just outside our back door, and our back door kind of springs open. So many safety hazards. Well, on this day, Pops kept coming out to talk to me, and the door opening would startle me, so I have several awesome pics of my back or side as I jumped out of my skin just as the camera timer went off. Quiet on the set, people!!

Friday 8/28

Birthday ensemble! If wearing sequins on my birthday is wrong, then I don't wanna be right! Pops was concerned that I was wearing sequins at all, let alone before noon ("You look like Tina Turner's back-up dancer!"), but hey, I was working from home. Plus, birthday! IF NOT NOW, WHEN, POPS?!

LOL what is this pose??

Saturday 8/29

All dressed up for dinner with B and my parents! I love this dress on the hanger, but I never know what to do with it. Do I belt it? Can I wear a necklace with it? Is it too baggy? I decided that I had to wear it (for the first time ever!) if I were going to keep it... and I STILL don't know how I feel about it! Ugh!

Ooops, I stayed in pjs all day!

Monday 8/31

I'd been envisioning this outfit ever since I bought the skirt! In case you were wondering, I saw Elton John in 2013, and it was one of the best concerts I've ever been to. (Should I be concerned that "Someone Saved My Life Tonight" was one of my favorite songs in seventh grade??)

You can't plant me in your penthouse, I'm going back to my plow.

And thus concludes Outfit Documentation August! Here are the other outfits I wore during the month, and installments one, two, and three!

Total Number of Items Worn: 53

Most-Worn Items: Blue Old Navy Tami Tank (3) and Gray Old Navy Cardigan (3)

Favorite Looks: Obviously the blue H&M dress I wore to the wedding, but also the black and white Old Navy romper, blue crop top + blue pleated skirt, and my "semaphore" dress with grey jacket. (That poor dress is covered in strings--it is seriously going to fall apart!)

Least Favorite: The chambray button-down + leggings that lead off this week's post. I liked it on but felt it looked kind of meh and dowdy in pics :-/

I definitely used more of my closet/accessories than I normally do (hello, sequin dress I hadn't worn in three years!), and I also realized which areas I need to cut back on (tops and shorts!) and which ones I could expand (casual dresses and skirts, neutral cardigans). And in the entire month, I only bought one article of clothing, the (super comfy) blue Old Navy circle skirt, which I'd been eyeing since the spring, on major sale. Huzzah!

Thanks for following along with me all month! :)
